Just a painful picture of my friend\’s brother. How is he supposed to get it out again? It takes balls to find the camera to take a picture instead of just scream for an amulance or something….

I'm using CamStudio for screencasting, a great free tool. I'll see if I can make a tutorial forthe use of vided.org tomorrow, right now I'm late for my appointment. I'll give you a few seconds of introduction, just to test the video quality etc.

Har faktisk implementert kode som syr sammen greiene med B2Evolution, noko som er nært beslekta med Wordpress som du nevner. Det funka greit, men eg kutta det ut likevel. Eg vil gjerne lære meg saker og ting sjølv, og wordpress/b2evolution blir litt overkill i forhold til “målgruppa” meiner no eg iallefall. Dette er ikkje meininga å skulle bli eit system for …øøhhh.. DEG, men heller …resten av klassen din? Forhåpentligvis kan systemet også vekse i lag med brukargruppa.

Var også innom jorgis.com og las litt av foruminnlegga dine på hw-nettverket samt artiklar etc. Mykje bra greier.

Når det gjeld strekking av “den svarte boksen” i IE, takk for tipset, bruker mest firefox/opera i utvikling, og bruker lite tid til bugtracking… dårlig unnskyldning kanskje. Majortabbe å ikkje sjekke f.eks. signup i IE før fredag også.

Streng tatt er systemet framleis “alpha”, men som sagt er det konseptet som skal prøvast ut. Og eg både trur og reknar med at det er få andre enn deg sjølv som faktisk saknar quote-funksjon. For det er streng tatt meir ein nerdefunksjon enn noko anna. Men nok om det, eg skal ta ein ny gjennomgang av bl.a. wordwrap og parsing på nytt. Og ein del andre bugs eg har notert. Skal ikkje nevne alle her, men det er f.eks. ein stygg bug i samme klasse som parsinga når du editerer ein blogpost, samt upload er ikkje heilt trygt!

THIS looks like a killer phone/(video)camera for vided.org or vlogging in general.

It's insane: VGA video (my current IXUS 400/Elph only shoots 320*240), TV-out(!), MP3-playback, 16+ million color display, mini SD card slot as well as USB cord slot, you can manually select exposure time, ISO, flash, timer for photographs, video is mpeg4 format it looks like, with up to 44KHz sound.

Bad points include no email functionality, short battery-life, no T9 (have another “intelligent” prediction system). Also no bluetooth and a less-than-perfect GUI.

I'm doing a quick presentation to pupils aged around 16-17 right now.

I told the students that replying to my own posting would be somewhat pathetic, but now I’m doing it anyway :-). I talked and showed the system as well as a couple of vlogs for like 7-8 minutes. I talked about vided.org and videoblogging and was hoping for some of the students to want to try vided.org, or even go to like www.videoblogging.info to explore their possibilities on their own. All in all, I got to way a lot. I’m still not completely satisfied with my talk, for several reasons.

1. Unclear; what do I really want from you? (I want to inform, encourage, and I want you to try vided.org. And world peace.)

2. Why not give the students a webpage where they could sign up right away? Good idea, but I want the students to fill out a questionnaire _before_ they start using vided.org. This isn’t finished yet, I’m sorry! (signup is coming to a webpage near you THIS WEEK).

3. I’m not experienced in talking to like 150 students. I hope my nervousity wasn’t too obvious…

OK. What I would want to talk more about was:

1. Vlogging as a new medium, new possibilites, enabling vodcasts in iTunes as well as FireANT. And possibly also directly to your living room TV in a few years time.

2. I would describe vlogging/vided.org as an excellent tool for a media student for learning about media, publishing, getting responses, cooperative editing, getting better at writing.

3. The vlog community. The creativity. The fantastic work that’s beeing done both by programmers and media creators.

Hopefully, I will get the chance when appearing at a few study-groups, as well as a few actually reading this.
